About the role

Business Developer - Nordics

We are looking for a Business Developer who is ready to take ownership of our business development efforts in the Nordic region—Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. This is a unique opportunity for someone entrepreneurial, independent, and commercially savvy to build and expand our presence in this important market.

You’ll bring a strong background in grant consultancy and business development, and thrive on identifying opportunities, building relationships, and closing deals. You’ll be empowered to take initiative and shape the direction of our growth in the Nordics—backed by the strength and experience of Catalyze’s international team.

What you will do

  • Take the lead in expanding Catalyze’s footprint in the Nordics, building your own client base and driving growth.
  • Identify and engage high-quality prospects through market research, networking, and event participation.
  • Build and manage client relationships around pioneering deep tech innovations in sectors including Life Sciences & Health, Sustainability, Artificial Intelligence and Industrial & Digital Technologies etc.
  • Closing new business and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Translate client needs into tailored Catalyze service offerings, including funding strategy and grant application support.
  • Match clients with relevant international and regional funding opportunities, including:
    • Denmark: Innovation Fund Denmark – Innobooster, Missionbooster, Grand Solutions
    • Norway: Innovation Norway, SkatteFUNN, Norwegian Research Council – Innovation Projects for the Industrial Sector
    • Finland: Business Finland – Deep Tech Accelerator, R&D&P Funding
  • Represent Catalyze at key industry events, pitch sessions, and workshops across the region.
  • Proactively spot opportunities for new services based on market needs.
 
Your Profile

  • You’re a self-starter who enjoys working independently, building something from the ground up, and delivering results.
  • At least 6 years of experience in consulting, business development, and/or grant writing within the Life Sciences & Health sector.
  • Proven success in client acquisition and relationship management, ideally within the Nordic start-up and scale-up ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of the Nordic R&D and grant funding landscape, as well as European-level programs like Horizon Europe, EIC Accelerator, and Eurostars.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, or a related field. A business focus is a strong asset.
  • Fluent in English. Fluent in Danish and/or Swedish.
