As an Associate Business Developer Green & Sustainable Innovations at Catalyze, you will find yourself at the heart of innovations in technological progress, from energy transition to sustainable food systems and biobased industry. Associate Business Developer - Green & Sustainable Innovations


Associate Business Developer will have a crucial role in supporting the sales performance of the team by identifying new leads, both new and from existing clients.

This role is ideal for recent graduates looking to kick-start their careers in sales within the Green & Sustainable innovation space. You'll be identifying innovations that have the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones, addressing big societal and environmental challenges and help them resolve their funding challenges.

One day you’ll talk to the CEO of a startup company with a promising innovation such as a Medical Devices company, the next day to a professor within one of the leading universities in Europe discussing innovations in Health. You will be part of our Business Development team which comprises of highly talented, studious people with different backgrounds with commercial mindset.

With our keen understanding of the funding landscape we put our clients in the best possible position to attract funding, empowering them to change the world for the better.

What will you do?

  • Intensive network building with innovative companies and academics within the field of Green & Sustainable Innovations.
  • Develop a pipeline of high-quality leads that will eventually grow into sales opportunities.
  • Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor in the landscape of innovation and subsidy financing.

In the first few months, the focus is mainly on actively approaching new customers and building a strong network and not on direct sales results. You support our sales teams and learn on the job. This gives you the opportunity to develop yourself and make an impact in the long term.

This is what you bring with you:

  • You have recently completed MSC (Life sciences or Engineering fields with business focus is a plus)
  • You have great interest in sustainable and technological transitions.
  • You are a real networker and always trying to tap into new contacts.
  • You think ahead, show entrepreneurship, and can deal well with rejection.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with both technical experts and business leaders.
  • Excellent English skills are required, while Dutch language proficiency is a nice bonus.
  • You are already based in the Netherlands
